Talking to your crush can be a little scary at first. What do you say? What do you ask? What if there is a lull in the conversation. Thankfully we are here to help. Whether you are talking on the phone or in-person or perhaps even on your first date, these thoughtful questions to ask your crush are all you need to get you to know them better to see if you are interested in taking it to the next level.

A note before we reveal these questions

Remember when asking your crush questions most likely they will ask you the same questions. So be sure if you are going to ask if you don’t mind answering it as well. Also, the point of this list is not to ask them a million and a half questions one right after another. Be sure you let the conversation flow and really listen to what they have to say. Use a handful of these questions to fill in the time when needed.

Questions to Ask Your Crush

1. Do you have a celebrity crush? Who is it?

If you ever want to know what someone likes then ask this question. It helps you to know a little bit more insight into their likes and interests with this one very simple question.

2. Do you remember what you first thought when you saw me?

There is a good chance that if they are crushing on you then they will know exactly what they thought when they saw you for the first time. Perhaps they might remember your smile or your laugh, maybe they remember you being a little more reserved. I always love finding out the answer to this question. Heck, sometimes I still ask my husband what his first thought was when he saw me.

3. Would you rather stay home and binge-watch your favorite show or go to a party?

Without coming out and saying it this question helps determine if your crush is an introvert or an extrovert. It helps you determine if you can handle what they like to do as well. If you are a stay home and binge-watch 5 days a week and they are a go out and hit the town five days a week, can your relationship work? Only time and compilation can determine that!

4. Are you a giver or a receiver?

100 percent I share this role equally. I love to give, but I like to receive. If you love flowers and your crush just isn’t into that you might want to let them know upfront what you like. If they say “that’s dumb or a waste of money” it might not be worth the relationship. Remember in all relationships it takes equal give and take for a relationship to be successful. So if they are a receiver you need to make sure you fulfill this need. There is a good chance that just might be their love language.

5. Who are you closest to? Who are you closest to in your family?

This question really allows them to open up and shed some light on their life. When you ask who they are closest to in their family this will help you to get to know their family dynamic to see how they meld with their family. It is always a great sign if they are close to their mom or dad. This means that they 100% respect them and will respect you as well.

6. What would you do if I kissed you right now?

Hey, if you want to know if your crush is really into you, why not make the first move and ask them what they would do if you kissed them. If they blush you know they are really into you. If they go for it (in person) you know they really like you and if they shrug and go “I don’t know” you might want to rethink the relationship because they might not be that into you at this point. If this happened just keep being their friend and getting to know them and who knows what will change in the future.

7. Do you know your love language?

Love Languages are legit and everyone should know what theirs is as well as their crushes/ boyfriends/husbands, etc. When you discover the love language of others this helps you express love to them in their way they understand it the most. This could be through words of affirmation, quality time, physical touch, service, or gifts.

8. What is the best gift you ever received?

This is an important question to ask your crush especially if a holiday is coming up! There is nothing worse than scratching your head trying to figure out what your crush likes, but by asking what the best gift is, this helps you understand what they value when it comes to gifts. Trust me you will thank me for this question later.

9. What does your typical Saturday look like?

Rather than asking what you like to do. Ask them what their day looks like! This helps you to know if they sleep in most of the day or ambitious and get up and do yard work and then have fun with friends. Maybe they have a Saturday job or babysit most Saturdays. By asking this question you will get the answer to a bunch of questions all in one!

10. What is the best advice you have ever been given?

Advice is one of those things that many people offer, but what the receipt does with it matters even more! Challenge them to think about why they have loved receiving that advice. Once they say something this can lead to even more questions like what situation were you given that advice in? What have you done with that advice? How have you grown from this?

There you have it! Thoughtful questions you want to ask your crush. When in doubt you can always throw in playing 2 truths and a Lie to liven up the mood! What would you add to this list? Share in the comments!
